It keeps me humble

... whenever I park at the girls high school to pick them up, and these students come out and get into their spotless 2002 SUV's and drive off home.

At least the Velvet Fog Van helps keep the Mosquito population down around town.

I guess I can be proud of that.

  1. Have you heard that sick add on the radio from Riverside Dodge? The one about how you need to buy your graduating child a vehicle so that you can see them smile?

    The guy is truely sick.

It's enough of an incentive to never want to buy any vehicle from them.

  2. Make them really smile - buy them a bicycle ;-)

FWIW when I was in Texas I was being driven round by a guy there in a 4 week old SUV (which he managed to bend on my penultimate day). I described to both him and some of the other guys I met there that I drive a 1.4l diesel car with faded red paintwork and a lopsided front bumper (Fender make guitars ;-). The MD here has a small peugeot based on the same running gear that's done 130,000 miles and is just one year younger. We don't wash our cars often, partly because it's like pushing water uphill, and partly in case they would fall apart.

Legitimi non-carborundum - don't let them get to you even if their parents were married ;-)
