For my birthday, my friend who knew that I was going through a rough time made me a c.d.
ReplyDeleteI listen to that C.d. everyday on the bus, to and from work. This is the last song on the cd, and it is usually the song that comes on as I walk down the hill, almost home. It is a kind of fitting end to my day.
Words and music by Steve Merkel -- but the refrain is right out of the Western liturgy as it has been spoken and sung for hundreds of years. "Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy..."
ReplyDeleteNow, of course, if you're Eastern Orthodox you're repeating the mantra "Lord have mercy" about 10,000 times every Sunday!
I do like the new song. We've sung it several times. And sometimes we just sing the refrain.
